Check out our green fingers!

While most of you are at home the key worker children have been working hard with the staff in our new allotment at School.

Thanks to a very generous donation of plants, flowers and vegetables from Halls of Heddon Garden Centre our allotment is looking amazing. Thank you so much Halls of Heddon, your kindness is much appreciated!

We hope that we are all back in School in time to pick and eat all the wonderful things that are now growing.

Keep your eyes peeled for our scarecrow, Bob, who will be out in the allotment scaring the birds once he is completed by the children!

We hope that you enjoy looking at the photos of all of our hard work and we would love to know if you are growing something special at home too.

Do you know how to stay safe online?

As the majority of children are not at School and many may be spending more time online we would like to share some simple 15 minute activities which you can do with your child about keeping safe online. These activities are supported by age appropriate videos

The activities come from www.thinkuknow.co.uk which has lots of other activities and games available to teach the children about online safety.

We would love to see what you and the children do and share it with others. Please share on either Facebook or Twitter and use #heddonschool so that we can see it.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update 16.03.2020

Please see the following update in regards to Coronavirus (COVID-19) – this has also been sent via hardcopy and SchoolComms.

In line with our pandemic risk assessment the School is moving to a reduced contact approach to limit external contact for the children and staff.

Therefore it is with some regret, that I have to inform you that the following events have been cancelled: Mother’s Day Service, Easter Service, Walker Books Author Visit, ICE-Bridge Challenge and Maths Challenge.

Parents Evening has also been postponed, however, if you have a concern about your child and wish to speak to their class teacher you are welcome to contact the Office via telephone and they will arrange a telephone consultation with the teacher for you.

While I am aware that this is a time of worry and anxiety, rest assured that the safety of the children is our highest priority and we continue to enforce strict hygiene routines within School with the use of soap and antibacterial hand sanitiser.
